ISRF A.G.M. Jan 2010

The main points to come out of the meeting. Firstly the resignation of Heno Byrne as President and Liberator. Heno was an excellent liberator and has brought the fed right up to date with the latest in technology, and while there were mistakes made during his time they were few and I think his time in charge should be remembered as a positive time for the Fed. A lot of good things have been achieved and while I often had heated debates with him I always think he had the sport at heart. Judging by the warm send off he got by the members in the hall Im sure they felt the same. So best of luck to Heno in his future endeavours.( PS even with your new state of the art loft ill kick your ass)

The New president is Mick Roache. I know Mick a long time and I am sure he will do a good job once he gets time to put his stamp on the job. Secretary Tommy Lowry and treasurer Willie Butler were both re-elected with the body of the hall feeling they were doing a fine job. Our new liberator is Tony Ingle. Tony has been a good pigeon man for a long time and I am sure he will be well able for the job and all it entails. So best of luck to all the lads and the new committee for the 2010 season.

The last thing of note was the passing of a 50 bird limit. The vote was overwhelmingly passed and was greeted with a big cheer from the hall which I think says it all.

Just more one thing before I finish up. When I went in to the meeting on Sunday I meet my old friend Pascal Mulcahy. The first thing he says to me in his out of breath voice is "I am knackered". Once the meeting got going he was like the Duracell Bunny and you couldn't get him to sit down. I think his passion for the sport is amazing. Pascal is coming up on 70 years of age and I wish some of the younger members had his enthusiasm. A little bird tells me he's gone ETS this year. Well actually it was a big bird called Heno.

All the best for the forthcoming season.
