Alan Best – Irish South Road Federation Champion 2005

It’s not often in Irish pigeon racing circles that the term Champion is used particularly in the Irish South Road Federation but I think I will be forgiven for its use in this loft report. How else could you describe a fancier who wins 4 out of our six points trophies and takes three or four positions in the first fifty on four occasions?

Brian Brady - A Loft Full Of Winners

Within a short period of time he made his mark, being the Overall Club Champion for the 2007 & 2008 Season. On average Brian would notch up about 8 Club wins each season, whilst racking up some top performances at Federation level, including numerous Fed Wins, and of course an Open Win from Barleycove in 2008...

Mr & Mrs P. Byrne -Irish South Road Federation Old Bird Champion 2007

This loft not only won the Old Bird Averages in the Fed and Overall Averages in the club, they also scooped the Old Bird of the year in the Federation... Mr Stockman knows recognises potential with ease. One such experience last year, Padner had a youngster that beat his loft mates back from the only 3 tosses it had. It was removed from the young bird loft, and put to stock where it  bred a winner in his first nest...

Derek Cummins – Consistently Excellent

Those of you who have been reading the results for the Finglas RPC and the Irish South Road Fed will be aware of the results obtained by Derek...All told he has been involved with pigeons for 35 years and lets hope he will be still there in another 35 years...

McGovern Bros  - Good Pigeons & Hard Work

McGovern Brothers race in the very strong Greenhills & District Club on the Southside of the Dublin City, and in 2009 the partnership racked up 8 x 1st, 9 x 2nds, 6 x 3rd along with many other positions, which in total was good enough to make them Club Champions for 2009...

Gerry O'Mara  - Irish South Road Federation Champion 2007

In the past nine years Gerry has topped the South Road Fed which has an inland average birdage of 7000 birds an incredible 15 times and won an Open from Penzance. He was overall Fed champion 3 times in 2001/02 & 2007 and runner up twice 1999 and 2003. His club racing results are amazing! From the time he was with the Dublin North East up to this year in the Kildonagh he has won over 90 club firsts in 9 years that's an average of 10 a year.

Pat Craven – Irish South Road Federation Old Bird Champion 2005

Pat took 5 wins in the highly competitive racing club of the Sarsfield R.P.C. in 2005, along with numerous other positions which were good enough to win him the Overall Champion for 2005.

Pat’s achievements at club level were coupled at Fed level, scoring 2 x 2nd Feds and 2nd Open in the Old Bird Season of 2005, whilst also fighting off some stiff competition to win Irish South Road Federation Old Bird Champion and Top 50 Old Bird Champion for 2005.

John O’Toole – Double Irish South Road Federation Winner 2005

John has been racing pigeons in the Finglas Club since 1972 when the club was located at the Tolka Cottages...he was back with a bang in 2005, topping the fed twice and winning 1st and 3rd Best Young Bird in the fed...

...he scored 36 times in the fed, which includes taking 15th, 19th, 23rd, 26th, 73rd, 79th, 94th and 99th in the same Open Barleycove Young Birds when 232 sent 2765 birds...

Tom Nelson  - Irish South Road Federation Champion 2006

Tom has won some major races in his time including 1st Open Wadebridge and 1st Open Sennencove while also topping the Fed on numerous occasions. Although when I asked him what his best result was to date, without a second thought he answered the last race of 2006.
