IRISH SOUTH ROAD FEDERATION President G Daly, Chairman T Henry Byrne, Secretary Michael Roche, Treasurer Willie Butler MINUTES OF THE IRISH SOUTH ROAD FEDERATION ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2017. which was held on Sunday 7 th January 2018 at 10.30am in the Clann na Gael g.a.a club Sean Moore road Ringsend Dublin 4. MEMBERS PRESENT 110 A minutes silence was called for the deceased members by the chairman. 1 A summary of the 2016 minutes was given out to all the members that were present and read out and they were passed. 2. PRESIDENT’S REPORT –G DALY He felt the season went well in general with one sticky race. He thanked the liberator as he felt he did a good job . He felt corporation between the officials of the ISRF worked well.He also said if anyone has any problems just come to one of the committee members and he felt any problem will be sorted out. 3. CHAIRMANS REPORT, Henry Byrne The chairman said he apologised as he was not able to renew the drug licence due to ill, health.He also pointed out that the clubs were spoiling the samples for drug testing by not complying with popper procedures. He felt the ISRF ran well in 2017 no major problems. Racing was good up land and on the channel. A discussion to place regarding St Malo race and it was agreed that the ISRF transporter will be as close as possible for liberation purpose to the NIPA transporters. 4. SECRETARY’S REPORT -Michael Roche I want to thank the ISRF committee, the treasurer the chairman and the club secretaries for all their help in 2017. I want also to thank the conveyors & the liberator of the pigeons for the excellent job they did for you and ISRF this year. This was my third year as secretary and as far as I know I did not make any major mistakes this year but if I did they were not intentional. As much information was given to the ISRF members as possible through the year. The I S R F official web site http://www.isrf.ie is still up and running. THE FOLLOWING IS ON THE WEB SITE The ISRF race program and calendar, Updated rules, Weekly federation results which are up dated every week. Videos This year we tried having the liberations live on face book from Ireland ,England ,France The ISRF were the first federation in Ireland to have live liberations on face book this brought the ISRF liberations on to the phones and computers of pigeon fanciers and non fanciers around the world . Results The WEEKLY and OPEN results were put up on the ISRF and plink web sites and also given out every week at the transporters on a weekly bases. The ISRF weekly running averages and averages were displayed this year on the ISRF site. The weekly ISRF section /CLUB RESULTS were displayed on the internet. The members and birds competing in each section was put on the section diplomas on a weekly bases were possible, The system of texting the full members every week was continued this year with 25,000 approx texts were sent out in 2017 informing the members when the birds were out and other information. As far as i know most fanciers are still happy with the texts. PROVISIONAL WEEKLY RESULT The top 6 of each club results in the ISRF competing in the ISRF open races was text to the fed sectary on the day of the open races and as a result a more accurate result of the top 50 was text to the each club secretaries on the day of the each open ISRF race. The open races were completed with pools most weeks and a hard copy was also given out at the transporters on a weekly bases provided there was no problems with the result. The committee meetings were kept to minimum, this year I helped the Treasure to present a breakdown of the open races and the balance sheet this year. The ISRF balance sheet shows the ISRF is in profit this year. LOOKING FORWARD TO 2018 RESULTS All going well it is proposed in 2018 to publish on the ISRF web site with the aid of the pigeonlink.com on a weekly bases. The ISRF section results Weekly running averages for each section Running averages for each club in the ISRF A possible facility provided by pigeonlink may be available before the race season to allow clubs to provide a provisional ISRF result on a weekly bases on the day of the race . So each members will be able to check his running averages every week in the ISRF results, section, and his club races on the ISRF web site. 5 Finances of the ISRF. The main income for the federation is through the members ISRF fees and the bird age. Prize money is approx XXX euro a year and the ISRF is the only fed that gives such prize money . The membership is falling to 659 members this year. 6 Summery As far as i know everything that was needed to be done was done by me as secretary. I wish the members and the ISRF committee the best in the coming season 2018. 7 TREASURER’S REPORT Willie Butler The treasurer felt we were holding our own even though we are still losing members due to the age of the pigeon fanciers .Thank the secretaries and treasurers for their help over the years and had no real problem with any one and I like to thank the auditors for their assistance. The loss of members every year means we have to be very careful in how we spend money in the ISRF. Looking at what is happing in the sport regarding the membership of other federations we are doing reasonably well. 8 TRANSPORT MANAGER’S REPORT S Read The year went well this year and he wanted to thank G Daley for all the work he do and helping him every week. J Roberts J R felt the same and the year went well 9 LIBERATOR’S REPORT Good year except for the French race 10 AUDITORS’ REPORT E Fitzgerald, P Fagan, EF The books were presented well by the treasurer. Expenses are rising all the time. The auditor went through the expenditure of the ISRF. .11 Pro 2017 J O Brien Clondalkin. J o Brien Felt the pigeon racing should be classed as a sport. and educate the general public regarding the pigeon racing. A campaign to raise awareness regarding the pigeon sport . 12 BALANCE SHEET The chairman pointed out the breakdown of the open races and the negative balance he races were incurring. The ISRF fees were covering that and resulted in a increase in yearly balance of approx XXX euro to XXX euro.. A discussion too place regarding the increasing the ISRF fee If was agreed to leave things as it is for this year . The lack of Y Birds in the last YB races is affecting the income of the ISRF also. It was pointed out that we made XXX euro this year Expenditure in down this year which account for the surplus. There was a few questions on the balance sheet. 12.
